Start the Day Together in Missions-Focused Prayer

During the pandemic, we all got good at various kinds of online meetings. Why not pray together every day in spite of living in separate cities or even different countries?

That was how our daily prayer group started. Brothers and sisters of different nationalities in Japan and Hong Kong meet online every day at 8am (Japan Time). With hymns as our background music, we meet in a chat room. We have our own quiet time and share prayer requests, Bible verses, or anything inspired by the Holy Spirit. No need to wear any makeup or set our hair because we can join without turning on our camera or microphone. For almost three years, we have had this daily praying time without stopping. One hour just flies.

Of course we know that praying is one of the most important parts of our Christian life.

But we are familiar with the challenges:
Praying alone? It is too easy to give up without strong support and self-discipline.
Going to a prayer meeting? Many people have overtime after their regular work. Plus, we are usually too tired to go to a meeting at church after a long day.

How wonderful to be witnesses of Jesus and see how God does his great work across different nations. We experience the power of prayer as we intercede for each other and for God’s global mission. And having companions means we know that we are not alone.

You can start an online prayer group too!
