Long-Term Missions

Fisherman in Myanmar tossing his net into the water

With millions of people in or from East Asia having no opportunity to hear the good news of Jesus, there are many opportunities for Christians to live and serve among them.

What that looks like will depend on your experience, gifts and skills because God uses all sorts of people from all kinds of backgrounds to share His good news.

He uses church planters, theologians and anthropologists. He also uses believers from all walks of life - administrators, architects, artists, social workers, frisbee players, business professionals, mountain bikers and radio producers to introduce people to Jesus! We have seen marketplace professionals using their leave to serve short-term and others have used a career break to serve for 1-2 years and still others have served long-term as bi-vocationals. He has also brought retirees and "half-timers" drawing on their rich experiences in their life and profession to contribute to His work.

In 50 years of helping believers love and serve East Asia’s peoples, we have witnessed God’s faithfulness in helping Christians overcome all manner of obstacles and fears that might have kept them from serving Him.
