“May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.”  ~Psalm 63:7

SUNDAYS • The Urban Billion

By the year 2030, over one billion people will live in China’s mega cities. With at least 20 cities having a population of over 7 million, a widening gap between the rich and the poor, intense work pressure, strains on the family, and increasing social and environmental concerns are on the rise. What does it mean for the love of Christ to be made known in these cities? Ask God to raise up thousands of intercessors, united in faith for the Urban Billion.

MONDAYS • Urban believers

Whether believers in the urban cities are worshiping in their homes or in church buildings, pray that they will be a light, reaching their own sphere of influence–family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. Pray that Chinese believers may bring the hope that Jesus gives into the lives of the people around them and beyond.

TUESDAYS • Urban churches

Pray for unity and strength among churches, whether they are big, small or even virtual. May the church be a place for intellectuals such as professionals and university students to meet together, and even for the super wealthy and not-so-wealthy to fellowship and worship together.

 WEDNESDAYS • Educating students

As schools have started to reopen in China’s cities, including in Wuhan which was massively impacted by COVID-19, many guidelines are in place to ensure student and faculty safety, and to prevent further spread of the virus. Please pray for wisdom and safety as China does its best to return to normal society.

THURSDAYS • Migrant workers

Chinese migrant workers typically have to leave behind their rural home and family, in an attempt to earn a larger income in the city. Nearly 300 million migrant workers are finding life to be even more difficult during COVID-19. Pray that the Lord may provide for these workers and that they may see the hope that is found only in Jesus, not in wealth.

FRIDAYS • Families with special needs

In many Asian countries, it is considered taboo and shameful to have a member of the family with a disability. With lack of awareness, resources and education, many families are seeking help and support. Pray that local believers can share the boundless love of Christ with these families and that they would find support and community.

SATURDAYS • Urban society

Only the Lord knows all of the needs of the Urban Billion. From working professionals to students, from parents to children, from the privileged to the underprivileged, from those in power to those who are outcast, pray for the church to bring hope to people and share the good news of Jesus with them.
