Invisible Seeds

“God, I will need a co-worker!” Pastor Pam prayed earnestly.
She had helped establish Glory of God Church in Lopburi Province, Thailand, the place where she had attended youth group as a young girl and grew in her faith at Lopburi Church. Wholeheartedly committed to following her Savior, Pam assisted with English outreach programs and attended church-planting trainings in Central Thailand.
But this would be a new challenge. She felt called to start a church among the unreached, where no churches yet existed. God revealed his plans, step-by-step. First, he provided Pam’s much-needed co-worker, a woman named Lena who had just retired from Bangkok Bible Seminary. Knowing the difficulties that faced them, Lena hesitantly accepted the job.
They sought God together for the church’s location. His answer: Wiset in Angthong Province—a place of famously hard spiritual soil, at least according to OMF International workers from a medical clinic who spent two decades investing in the region with little “progress.” When workers came to the area again in the 1990s, only a handful of people met for worship. It was discouraging work.
After roughly a year in Wiset, Pam and Lena now run a homework club, visit people in the community, host weekly worship and Bible study and put on outreach programs during the holidays. A church is forming. Years of prayer and obedient service are finally yielding visible blessings. We praise God for being the One who makes things grow, and ask the Lord to strengthen his church in Angthong Province, that many will praise him for his marvelous deeds.
