  1. HONG KONG. Lord, we pray for additional godly, skilled, trained and willing members to join the team each year. Please also help them recruit new council members, who can provide good leadership and partnership in the coming years.
  1. JAPAN. Lord, we thank you for the university ministries among students. Lord, may you bless that work and help many students to come to believe in Jesus at this critical point in their lives. May you raise up future leaders from this ministry.
  1. DPRK. Lord, there are many people around the world who love the people of North Korea (the DPRK), and want to share your Good News with them. Make ways for people around the world to show the love of Jesus to the people of the DPRK.
  1. CHINESE NEW YEAR. Lord, on this first day of the Chinese New Year—a major holiday for Chinese communities throughout East Asia—we lift up Chinese believers who often return home to families who do not believe in Christ. We ask for them to be faithful, loving witnesses during this time.
  1. SOUTH KOREA. Lord, thank you for your church in South Korea. Please use your people in South Korea to bless the peoples of East Asia. Work through your church to send many people to East Asians to share the good news about Jesus.
  1. TAIWAN. Lord, we pray that more churches will commit resources to reach out to working class communities. Please open more opportunities for mission agencies to partner with them.
  1. CAMBODIA. Lord, we praise you for the work you are doing among minority peoples, particularly the Krung and Brao. May those who have put their trust in you stand firm, and may you open the hearts of many others to receive you.
  1. LAOS. Lord, help PhuTai believers in Laos to honor you in all they do; their families, their workplaces, their neighborhoods and in their churches.
  1. MYANMAR. Lord, we are one body of Christ. We praise you that more and more Myanmar churches are reaching out to Buddhist people groups. Praise you that local Christian leaders are developing new ways to contextually reach out to them. We pray for discipleship programs especially among the more established churches in Myanmar.
  1. PHILIPPINES. Lord, we pray for daily wisdom, discernment and synergy for the leadership and Ministry Leaders’ Council as they serve the team working in the Philippines.
  1. THAILAND. God, thank you for your love for students in Bangkok, Nakon Sawan, and Lopburi. Please help ministries to effectively reach out to students, disciple them, and multiply so all campuses in Central Thailand have a witness.
  1. THAILAND. Lord, thank you for your church in Thailand. Please use your people in Thailand to bless the peoples of East Asia. Work through your church to send many new missionaries to share the good news about Jesus.
  1. VIETNAM. We pray for new leaders to be trained urgently. Lord, give wisdom to older pastors who carry heavy responsibilities. We pray for discernment in younger churches led by those with little opportunity for theological study, that you will guide them in your truth, and guard their teaching and pastor your flock. We pray for more commentaries, theological study materials and children’s materials to be translated and written for the Vietnamese church.
  1. NEW WORKERS. Lord, we thank you for calling and equipping new workers who begin their first day of Orientation Course training in Singapore. Guide them abundantly during the next three weeks, seeking you for direction and strength.
  1. BIBLE DISTRIBUTION. Thank you, Lord, that Bibles are available in Vietnamese. We pray for increased use of modern translations. We also pray for translations into many minority languages that still have no or few scriptures.
  1. INDONESIA. Lord, this nation has been hit with many kinds of disasters one after another. Many people are traumatized, in fear and spiritually anxious. There is great need for spiritual assurance as well as material relief. Lord, please help the social and religious organizations that are actively helping out. We pray that the Indonesian church may grow in seeing this as a God-given time to comfort, encourage and bring hope.
  1. FRUITFUL CHURCHES. Lord, thank you for your church in Indonesia. Please use your people in Indonesia to bless the peoples of East Asia. Work through your church to send many people to East Asians to share the good news about Jesus.
  1. MALAYSIA. Christ, you are supreme. We pray for established Christians in Malaysia to put their hope in you for their past, present, and future. Please protect them from past superstitions, present temptations, and unhealthy future plans.
  1. STAFF SHORTAGE. Lord, you know about the shortage of pastors and full-time workers, and theological educators for the church in Malaysia. Please call more Christians into this ministry and help them take up the challenge to serve you in this way.
  1. EAST ASIAN MUSLIMS. Lord, you see the Christians in East Asia with Muslim friends, neighbors, and co-workers. We pray that you would build deep friendships and bless these friends through sharing life together. Help people from diverse backgrounds to understand and appreciate each other.
  1. MISSIONAL BUSINESS. God, please help Christians living in Muslim areas to start businesses that will bless their customers, employees, communities, and investors. Please help these entrepreneurs as they work through legal and financial challenges for their businesses.
  1. FACING PRESSURE. God, we remember Tibetan believers who face much misunderstanding and pressure from their families and the wider community. Please help them to lean on you as they face intense challenges. 
  1. MINORITY PEOPLES. Lord, please set the Tai Yuan free from the bondage set upon them because of their fear of spirits. Their animistic beliefs weigh heavy upon them, approaching life with a nervous outlook, not knowing when they might offend or displease the spirit world.
  1. DIASPORA. Lord, you make all things possible. We pray for Asian believers returning to their home countries. May they be emboldened by your spirit to be effective witnesses for their families and friends. We pray that their faith will be strengthened, that their passion for you will remain strong, and they will be missional and bring the gospel back home.
  1. BRIDGE ASIA VOLUNTEERS. Lord we ask you to guide the OMF (U.S.) volunteer ministry as they seek to form new prayer teams of volunteers for each of the OMF ministry teams, and for volunteers who will pray specifically and regularly for ministry effectiveness and fruit.
  1. SUPPORT MINISTRIES. Lord, we thank you for directing the staff serving our OMF (U.S.) family through administration and finance. Guide the team completing final details in the annual audit. Provide skill and wisdom to those managing information technology and internet communication.
  1. LEADERSHIP TRANSITION. Lord, we thank you for guiding Barry Potter serving this last year as interim OMF (U.S.) National Director and President. Equip and anoint James and Lisa Dougherty taking up the new role in March with faith and expectancy.
