Japan: Olympics Outreach

Do you love sport? Delight in connecting with non-Christians to share your faith? Then this opportunity maybe for you.

Why not serve local Japanese churches in partnership with OMF and local IFES this summer in Tokyo, as we seek to make disciples of Jesus through the opportunities afforded by the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games through various Olympic related outreaches in Tokyo. You will learn so much about the local churches and Japan and how you can pray for the Japanese.

Japan is one of the least reached countries with the gospel of Jesus in the world, with only 0.5% of the population professing to be Christian.

There is an opportunity to be involved in helping churches run: sports clinics for student groups and local schools. Pop-up cafes. Church festivals. Prayer walk around Tokyo.

You will also get to share your testimony, your cultural values or traditions (dance music etc).

You need to have a faith in Jesus and an incredible ‘go with the flow’ attitude. Be someone who enjoys sports and getting stuck in. Ability to work in different cultures with team members from other cultures and values.

Preferably, you will have some sporting ability and be willing to have a go at other sports
