About the event
‘For this is what the Lord has commanded us: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may
bring salvation to the ends of the earth’. (Acts 13:47)
Heart for Asia is a training event for anyone interested in encouraging young children to develop a
passion for mission in east Asia. Come together with other likeminded people serving from different backgrounds to share ideas and make plans for your ministry.
The thought of teaching global mission to our children can become an overwhelming task as there are so many ways you can explore it.
If you’re wondering how or where to start, either from your own home, within your church setting or for your mission partners then this event is for you. Anyone else who is involved with children (grandparents or carers) and would like their young people to know more about God’s heart for the nations is also welcomed!
Whilst we haven’t been able to travel freely recently, we can still visit East Asia safely from our own homes. Our experienced speakers will share about their work and how to effectively involve your children in cross-culture missions wherever you are.
Join us and be equipped to inspire the next generation to have God’s heart for Asia today.
This event will take place via Zoom

Sarah and her family lived in East Asia for 10 years, but are now based in Huddersfield, where she and her husband Gerard serve as North of England Area Representatives for OMF (UK). Sarah’s passion for children’s ministry sees her helping lead holiday camps and supporting LifePath Barnsley, an interactive day for Year 5s based on the life of Hudson Taylor.
Vatha is OMF (UK)’s Under 30s Mission Mobiliser, inspiring the next generation to get involved in what God is doing around the world. She is also an Authorised Lay Youth Minister with the Church of England and leads the youth and children’s work at her home church
Evie has always had a passion for travel and working with kids and young people. Over the years she has had a wide experience both short and longer term working in the UK and Ireland, Europe and, in the last few years, in East Asia. In her role she seeks to resource, write and develop biblical and discipleship materials for the children of OMF workers to grow their own faith and passion for mission.
