Churches need to be planted across Thailand but leaders also need to be firmly established in the Word of God. Therefore, Bible schools and seminaries can play an important role in providing biblically grounded pastors and elders to the Thai churches, whether they serve full-time or are bi-vocational.
We had an important part in starting three theological education institutions in Thailand, and continue to place staff there who can contribute to the spiritual and theological development of the students. Phayao Bible School, located in the North of Thailand, has trained many people for ministry, most of whom are from different tribes. Chiangmai Theological Seminary focuses on both sound theology and solid church planting, seeking to open Mobile Seminaries around Thailand to facilitate a church planting movement. Bangkok Bible Seminary educates up to bachelor’s and master’s level, and is the largest theological institution in Thailand.
Besides institutional work, we invest in developing training courses for church planting and leadership development that are more church based. Our passion is to train and equip as many church members as are willing to be used by God to further his Kingdom. We believe this is an important way to build up churches that will multiply.
