Jill received her missionary calling through the Bible verse: “It is too small a thing for you to be my servant […] I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth.” (Isaiah 49:6 NIV)
She resigned from NASA in 1990 and went to Thailand as a missionary apprentice for two years. She came back to US for more training in 1993. After graduation from San Jose Bible school, she joined OMF International in 1995 and went back to Thailand for church planting ministry, after language & culture training and learning from senior missionary in Central Thailand. In 1997, she was the first OMF missionary designated to do pioneering church planting among Thai in North Thailand. Starting from zero, she initiated and planted two Thai churches together with coworkers. They are Chiangmai Grace church and Maemoh Grace church. All the time, she is actively involved in personal evangelism, Bible study groups, discipleship training and new church planting among the Thai people.
In recent years, there are opportunities in reaching out to the international students from China, the parents of young international students, and also other mainland Chinese in Chiangmai. She is actively helping the Thai churches reaching out in missions to the Chinese in Thailand cross-culturally, and she is also training Thai and national Chinese christians for cross-cultural missions work for the fulfillment of the Great Commission from our Lord Jesus Christ.
