steerJames grew up in London, UK, and studied chemistry at university. After working for a pharmaceutical company, he studied on the Cornhill Training Course and worked part-time at his church, St.Peter’s Barge, for two years. On visiting Thailand for holiday, James met missionaries who explained the great need for Bible teaching and training in the national church. Subsequently, he completed an M.Th. in theology and world mission at Oak Hill Theological College before coming to Thailand with his wife Caroline.

Caroline first came to Thailand 15 years ago as Caroline Ringrose and as a short term volunteer. What was a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity from God became a ‘this is your life’ conviction from God to be a missionary after reading a biography of James O. Fraser. Trained as a secondary science teacher, Caroline enjoys learning about a tonal language and a fascinating culture. She served in OMF’s evangelism and discipleship ministry with Thai students for 3 years, leading a Youth House community and graduate apprentices. Caroline has also cared for many short-term volunteers and loves small group ladies Bible studies.

Caroline and James are the new administrative managers for the OMF Thailand field, with responsibility for 6 Thai staff, finance and visa processes. We are involved at the Khlongluang church and minister to new families. Previously we were in an unreached rural district of Suphanburi where 80,000 people lived. There is no church there and no response to the gospel seeds sown, as yet. OMF Thailand welcomes disciple-makers who are committed to following Jesus, sharing their lives with Thais and sharing the gospel, all for God’s glory.
