Our family the Ngaihtes: Thang and Ching Ngaihte come from Manipur in Northeast India. Ginnei Thang Ngaihte earned his doctorate degree from School of World Missions, Fuller Theological Seminary, USA, and a BD, BRE and BA in India. Ching Ngaihte graduated wit a MA (counseling) from Asian Theological Seminary, Manila, and a BA and B.Th in India. Our son Khup Ngaihte graduated with a MA from Fuller Theological Seminary, USA, now serving with Partners Relief and Development in Thailand. Nem Malabuyo graduated with a MA from Biola University, USA, working at Hope International University and living with her husband Oliver Malabuyo, one of the missionary kids serving in California.
After serving for 14 years in our church denomination in India as one of its directors, God called us for cross-cultural missions. Prior to serving in our target country we worked with Indian Evangelical Mission among Hindus in India for a couple of years. As God gave us a vision with burden for Thai people, he led us to work with OMF International in Thailand in 1989. We served as church planters in Bangkok for 11 years, helping a small church and eventually leading the team as OMF regional director for Bangkok.
In 2000 the Lord called us to train emerging leaders and prospective missionaries at Asian Theological Seminary in Manila, Philippines for 10 years. During those years, while Thang had opportunities teach at the mission department, he also served as director for international students, and head of the mission department for some years. Ching works as an associate chaplain for international students at Asian Theological Seminary. She also help at Bukang Li Wayway (Dawn for the Poor) in Manila under OMF.
Later, in 2011, the Lord directed us again to reach the Thais in Chiangmai, North Thailand, teaching young leaders at the Chiangmai Theological Seminary, as well as training missionary candidates who intend to serve in Asia at the Asian Cross-cultural Training Institute, Singapore as its director for training.
Currently, we serve as OMF regional leader for North Thailand, mentoring missionaries and leadership development, and training director for the Asian Cross-cultural Training Institute, Singapore and adjunct faculty at Northeast Centre for Training and Research (NECTAR) in Shillong, India. In those training centres and institutions, we focus on training young generations for missions in their contexts where they are supposed to serve. Besides, Ching is involved in aids care ministry and orphanage centres to uplift the lives of children who struggle to live their lives without parents. We feel that they should have the opportunity to live and meet the Lord Jesus in their life.
It is our joy to see churches multiplying, new churches growing, and our trainees reaching out to the unreached people groups for the Lord in Asia and abroad. We partner with national pastors and Christian communities to mobilize Christians to reach the unreached people for Christ. We welcome you to visit our website for information, feel free to contact us. If God calls you to serve in Thailand and beyond, we are happy to help you as much as we can by journeying with you. “For the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.” Pray that God will send more workers to join and have partnership in the ministry of the Lord in Thailand and the surrounding countries.
