Miu contacted Nampu-Fountain Ministry about one year ago. She was 23, already had three children, and was expecting her 4th. The family did not see how they could provide for yet another child since the husband had no job at that time. We visited and looked at the socio-economic situation and possible help. We prayed...
I was born in Tuguegarao, Cagayan Valley, Philippines and it was in my second year at the Word of Life Bible Institute that I started praying about overseas missions. God didn’t answer right away, leading me to work with a local church planting team in Pampanga. I got involved in teaching Bible study in the community and on campus, providing discipleship for the youth and helping the children’s ministry. While I was doing the work of the Lord my desire for missions grew stronger.
In January 2011, I was given the opportunity to go to Thailand for a vision trip. Before I left I earnestly prayed to the Lord that if He wanted me to serve Him there He would reveal it to me clearly. During the trip, I met an old woman and I found out that she was the only believer in that village. Then God spoke to me with a question; if this woman died, who will share the gospel to these people? After I went back to the Philippines I began to pray for Thailand. God gave me another opportunity to go back to Thailand for a short term mission trip with my church in May 2011. While I was there I asked God persistently why He brought me to Thailand again. Providing medical care was one way for us to minister to the people and I felt God’s burden for this people. There was an old woman and a young boy who expressed their gratitude to us so I thought to myself; we helped them with their physical needs but what about their spiritual needs? And suddenly tears rolled down my face. That was how God moved my heart. And He also confirmed to me that He was calling me to Thailand many times through my daily quiet time.
I am currently living and working in Mahasarakham, Isaan. Through the help of my two christian friends, who are professors in the faculty of pharmacy, there are many open opportunities for me to get involved in ministry. I am reaching out to both the faculty members and students through English teaching and other activities, hoping I can share the gospel with them.
