Reagan Taylor

Reagan TaylorMy name is Reagan Taylor, and I hail from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States.  I studied psychology and sociology at Olivet Nazarene University.  Since graduating, I have served in various ministry roles and worked at a psychiatric hospital, primarily with children and teenagers.

My calling to missions started at a camp in Alaska during the summer of 2009.  For the first time, I experienced life beyond the “Bible Belt” by coming into contact with kids who had hardly any idea at all of who Jesus is.  I realized I had the Message that matters most and the ability to tell them about it, so I did. And God woke me up to a passion I didn’t know I had.

This started me down the uncomfortable and dangerous path that is… “Well, I have seen. And now I am responsible.”

I volunteered in youth groups. I went back to the very basics with my small group of high school girls:  Why did Jesus have to die for us to be saved? What does being “saved” even mean?

I loved teaching, but I soon felt God drawing me to serve in the places where the name of Jesus had scarcely been uttered.

I spent eleven nomadic months in these places on a crazy adventure called the World Race, where God opened up my eyes to the spiritual darkness in places where He was not known.  Believing He was leading me to serve long-term in an unreached area, I asked God to open up a door for that kind of opportunity. And He did.

Avant Ministries seeks out places to plant thriving, Christ-centered churches where none exist, and they invited me to be a part of their first team in Thailand.  I am excited to continue to learn a new language, adopt a new culture, make new friends, tell them about Jesus, and watch the Holy Spirit transform their lives.
