The Role
OMF International is looking for an IT Support Specialist who has a heart for missions, who fully embraces the OMF’s values and ethos, and is called to this ministry. The position is based in Singapore at OMF International Centre, reporting to the International Coordinator for Information Technology.
Our IT systems play a key role in mobilizing and supporting God’s people around the world, for the task of sharing the good news of Jesus in all its fullness with East Asia’s peoples. This role will ensure that the systems are effective in supporting people and systems in our Singapore offices and users all around the world.
Main Areas of Work
- Supporting end-users with hardware, software, and network issues
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
- Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
- Responding in a timely manner to service issues and requests
- Providing technical support across the organization (both in-person and virtual)
- Setting up accounts for new users
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
- Documenting processes and performing diagnostic tests
- Keeping track of technological advancements and trends in IT support
- Looking for ways to improve or optimize systems or processes and execute the changes upon approval
Required Knowledge and Skill Set
- A technical, logical thought process with a strong troubleshooting skillset
- A keen eye for detail
- Strong ability to provide technical support and resolve queries
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks
- Ability to determine IT needs and train end-users
- Proficiency in IT helpdesk software, such as Jira Service Management or Spiceworks
- Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics
- Ability to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support
Desirable Characteristics and Skills
- Software programming experience is a plus
- 3-5 years of experience in an IT support role preferred
- Experience with cloud computing, such as AWS or Azure, especially with setting up and managing virtual servers
- Experience supporting Windows and Linux servers and systems
