The Pearl Family Garden ministry reaches women in the red-light district of Wanhua, Taipei. These include tea house waitresses, KTV hostesses, sex workers, the elderly and poor.
Shine Li interviewed 12 women for this book, “Serving Tea: Stories from Wanhua’s Red-Light District”.
These women have experienced much hardship and trauma — broken marriages, sexual violence, financial ruin, illness, accidents. On the last leg of their arduous journey, they found themselves in the Pearl Family Garden. Here, they met Jesus and their lives were transformed. But they continue to face temptations and struggles.
Please pray this book would mobilize the Taiwanese church to share the gospel with women in red-light districts all over the island.
