Ready, Set, Go!
Summer holidays have drawn to a close, and schools, universities and church activities are re-starting. This is a great time of year for launching new things and seeing where God leads.
Hokkaido Sector Leader
Give thanks for a good holiday. Driving through parts of Hokkaido with no church was a reminder to pray and consider how they might be reached with the gospel. Please pray for OMF Hokkaido members to know the Father’s grace and peace, to be filled with the Spirit, and to proclaim Jesus boldly and faithfully. Please pray for godly, mutually edifying relationships with partner churches and organisations. Please pray for blessing at the annual Japan Evangelical Church Association Hokkaido Believers’ Meeting on 16th September.
Hirosaki Nozomi
Praise God for the church family camp and a refreshing summer break. Pray for fruit from our fall schedule with activities. Pray for the Serve Asia Coordinator, as he fulfils his role and studies Japanese, and for God’s blessing on upcoming prayer journeys. Pray for another colleague as he restarts Japanese classes, prepares to preach in Japanese, and balances language study with leading and preaching at the Aomori Christian Camp English Language service twice a month.
Chitose Light Chapel
Pray for the kids’ Sunday worship services launching in Chitose Light Chapel this month. Two of our neighbour’s the kids are hoping to come. Pray for preaching preparations (14th & 28th September). Pray for protection whilst driving, after being hit in August; we drive a lot every day.
Momijidai Oasis Church
Give thanks for good weather, good teamwork, and the 16 children who attended the English class Summer Party in August. Pray for more connections with the community, and that the missionaries can engage with people through classes and events. Pray for church members’ faith to be strengthened and for their relationships with Jesus to deepen.
Nagayama Church, Asahikawa
Please pray for: 1) the salvation of the five young people and the Korean class members; 2) Many new people to come to the concert on the (14th September); 3) God’s guidance for Bible studies; 4) preparation for preaching (29th September); 5) God to care for our colleague’s eyes (glaucoma).
Nayoro Grace Church (NGC)
Give thanks that Nayoro Church Plant’s online prayer meeting was well-attended (31st July). Pastors and church members from several churches came together to pray for NGC and outreach in Northern Hokkaido. Please pray for God’s guidance at the next Nayoro Church Plant Committee (19th September). Lastly, pray for Nagayama Church’s outreach (29th September), when they also co-lead a worship workshop.
Connect – Green Line Community
We are grateful that God touched peoples’ hearts when they worshipped with short term workers. Pray that these people will grow in faith and put priority on worshipping the Lord on Sundays. Pray that the Lord will bless the outreach concert put on with other churches in Yokohama (20th September). Pray also that the Lord will open the door to families through the Kids English camp.
Meiji Gakuin University
Two classmates are returning in the fall semester after a leave of absence. Please pray for continued opportunities to share Jesus with them, and for wisdom in dealing with challenging practices in the school system. Pray also for prioritising rest/time with Jesus.
Hanamaki Megumi
Please pray that many new people will come to our weekly Minecraft and Teen English events, and hear the gospel. Please pray that those who have heard the gospel many times will think about their own need for salvation. Pray for those considering baptism and those in one-to-one Bible study. Please pray that they will believe and be saved.
Sendai Evangelical Christian Church
Having paid the deposit for a house, we will now pay the balance and start to turn it into church. There are various big jobs to be done. Please pray for God’s blessing and help. Churches often lose people at this stage; pray that we don’t. We can now start planning to call a pastor, which is long overdue for our church. We are thankful for this.
