2025 OMF Japan Field Conference
We are expecting 259 members of all ages and stages to gather from 16th-20th June in Sapporo, Hokkaido. Pray for all the details to come together, and for the Lord to be glorified as we meet. May each of us have receptive hearts!
Finance & Administration Sector Leader
Give thanks for good relationship-building at the Field Leadership Team (FLT) team-building and meetings. Please pray for: the new Finance Manager’s integration, for the Finance & Administration Sector Leader as she goes on a Deputation Visit directly after Field Conference, and for her Deputy, and for everyone during this time of transition. Please continue to pray for the Lord to provide people for the Finance Manager vacancy. Pray for God’s wisdom, energy, good health, and protection for the whole team.
Hiragishi Izumi
Please pray for a man, who’ll be baptised (8th June), and for a lady who’s studying the Bible. Give thanks for many non-Christians coming to church events; pray for spiritual fruit. Please pray the weekly preaching and kids’ ministry, and for the church members’ meeting (22nd June). Please pray for financial provision for the new building.
Lord willing, a team member with serious health issues will leave hospital in mid-June. She is having good opportunities to tell the staff about Jesus. With a long recovery predicted, please pray for her husband to know how much church work he can do, and what to prioritise.
Izumi Park Town Christ Church, Sendai
Please pray for a gospel harp concert on (8th June), and that many will come to Christ. Pray for four young men to encounter God through Bible study. Pray for opportunities to share the Gospel with a church member’s father who is very sick. Pray for the salvation of six men attending the church. Pray that the congregation’s faith will grow and that they will seek holiness. Pray for the health of the family serving here, and that the kids will settle in school. Finally, please pray for sermon preparation.
Immanuel Sapporo Christ Church
Please pray for a fun and meaningful outreach concert (22nd June). Pray for the missionary who serves here to learn Japanese effectively, have good relationships with church members, and clarity about how to serve. Pray also for them to pass their driver’s license test (2nd June), so that they can be mobile for Christ!
Kurume Christ Church, Higashi Kurume, Tokyo
Please pray that God brings many young people to the church camp in July! Pray also for plans to resume the monthly after-school kids’ club this autumn. Pray that God will provide everything needed to serve these younger children.
Nakayoshi Church
As the season gets hotter and wetter, pray for protection for those without adequate housing. Pray as for ways to support them in their physical needs, and that they would experience the healing power of a personal relationship with Christ.
Tokyo Christian University (TCU) & Counselling
Thank God for an encouraging training session at Kamoi Church (11th May). Please pray for: (1) the Lord’s blessing upon the clinical and pastoral psychology class at TCU; (2) God’s healing and growth in each client, and for His wisdom to guide the counselling.
Personnel Sector Leader
Praise God for unity during Field Leadership Team team-building and meetings. Pray for God’s leading for the Field Welcome Group (25th June). Pray as this missionary reads Bible stories with a non-Christian mum. Finally, pray that OMF members would “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” (Romans 12:12)
Member Care Advisor
Please pray for wisdom for the JEMA (Japan Evangelical Missionary Association) Member Care Committee (5th June), as new members are considered and events planned for 2025-2026. Pray for this missionary as they listen to, train and lead other missionaries. Pray for a successful operation for her mum, and a summer visit to the UK.
Tohoku Sector Leader
Please pray for preparation for missionaries joining the Tohoku Sector during the summer. Pray for preaching at Fukushima First Bible Baptist’s English service (8th June). Pray for wisdom in handling and balancing ministry and family schedules.
Hirosaki Gijuku School
Praise God that a previous co-worker has been coming to the church Pilates group. Pray that the Bible talk with soften her heart towards the gospel. Pray for wisdom in teaching, and for good relationships. Pray for the two students attending the weekly English Bible study.
