1) A smooth baby delivery in August and peace in navigating a foreign hospital system. 2) Deeper friendships with the people around us. 3) For One team member to find a bowling club to join and make relationships there. 4) More Gospel opportunities with friends. 5) Better Japanese language ability. 6) Cooperation between child’s teacher and parents as they try to move her to a shorter Japanese school day in order to have some English class time at home. 7) Spiritual health and the team’s relationship with God to grow deeper. 8) Clarity and guidance for what ministries should start.
Taihei Christ Chapel, Sapporo
Praise the Lord that students of both kids and adults English classes enjoy lesson time and Bible time. The church will host a Korean team from 1-15 July. Pray that God continues to bless their work and more people will come to church. Pray for good health for all.
Harvest International Church, Tokyo
Praise the Lord for His goodness! There has been growth in the Tokorozawa outreach. Pray that as the family based here continues to build relationships with families in their community and local schools, that will have new opportunities to share Christ’s love. Please pray for the upcoming church retreat in August. May the Lord provide a relaxing and fun time for all (Christians, non-Christians, family & friends), and that the Word would be shared in wisdom and power. Pray that through new relationships and community involvement that individuals would come to know Christ as their personal Saviour.
Kodaira Bible Christ Church
Thank God that a child started attending our English Class. There are plans to start an adult one as well. Pray for one team member as he has a sermon July 13 and another as she leads the planning for the English Classes. July will be busy with church events and kids camps so pray for peace and patience for all.
KGK
Please pray for 1) wisdom, insight and strength to know how to support students to walk faithfully. 2 )Preparation for student camps taking place from July to September has begun. Please pray for God’s guidance, inspiration, and unity, planning together with students and colleagues. Pray for the team member who is speaker at a student event (KGK) in Taiwan, the 11-14 July.
Kurume Christ Church, Higashi Kurume, Tokyo
KCC Kids’ summer program will take place on July 21-22. May God provide young families in the neighbourhood and all the resources needed. The after-school program for children will be resumed this September. It was a signature ministry for the church before the pandemic. Initially the program will be running on a monthly basis. Please pray for the logistics and everybody involved, and for other outreach activities happening in the summer.
Serve Japan (SJ)
New team members continue to learn about Serve Asia and the International Personnel System (IPS). Pray for understanding and wisdom in serving field and sending sides well.
Kanto: Pray for the Serve Asia Workers (5). Pray for two Serve Asia teams: Canada student Prayer Journey and Kids Gospel Team. Pray for Kanto Serve Asia as it is on hold. Pray for refreshment for team members on Home Assignment.
Tohoku: Praise God for three Serve Asia workers finishing well. There will be three new SAWs in July. Pray for preparation for autumn SAWs, and the team leader as he considers joining OMF as a member.
Hokkaido: Current Hokkaido Serve Asia Coordinator will end their term on June 30 with the Hokkaido sector leader filling this role until a replacement is found. May God guide and protect the workers in Hokkaido. Pray for prayer journeys and other new workers to be a blessing.
TCK (Third Culture Kid) Advisor Team
Please pray for the OMF TCK camp at the Aomori Christian Centre from July 23 – 25. Please pray for the leaders and helpers and for each TCK to connect more deeply with God and friends through this time together. Please pray for meaningful and refreshing family times, and for safety over the summer with many travelling. Pray for each TCK to grow in their understanding of God’s grace and mercy and desire to follow him. Pray for two teens who have been/ are being baptised over the summer, and for God’s blessing on them both as they grow in faith. Please pray for all the children moving this month whether to home assignment, or for schooling or within Japan. Pray that they will grow closer to God through the transition.
Izumi Park Town Christ Church, Sendai
Please pray for church’s camp from 19th to 20th July that new friends can have joy with Christians and brothers and sisters can deepen their love with each other. Pray for the leader who preaches during the camp, please pray for his sermon preparation. Please pray for church family members who are ill, and for those on the team’s heart for salvation including 4 teenagers boys, who read Bible in a group, to encounter God.
