The end of July and beginning of August is summer break for most students in Japan. Many churches will host or participate in different English and/or Bible camps. Please pray that students will come to know about God’s love for them while also having a fun time.
Japan Field Director (FD) and JERA in Tokyo
Pray for those organising and running the Kids’ Gospel outreaches at Ichikawa Chapel of Adoration and Sakata Lutheran July 29- August 9. Pray parents will attend the concert during Sunday Service and connect well to Japanese Christians. Pray for seeds to be sown in the children’s hearts and for two coworkers to come to the concert in the service.

Pray for different denomination’s youth/children summer camps in Hokkaido in August. Pray for Preparation for Hokkaido hi-b.a. camp in Sept.
Hokuei Christ Church
Thank God for a man who started seeker Bible study in July. Pray for understanding, leading to salvation. Pray for the parenting seminar on August 1. Pray especially for non-church participants to see God’s relevance in their lives. Pray for preparation for CS summer camp in September.
Sapporo Seisho Christ Church
Please pray for a missionary sharing in the prayer meeting on August 5. Another missionary will teach Sunday school on August 8, 9. Please also pray for the JECA camp August 10-12 that two youth will attend.
Hatogaya Evangelical Free Church, Kawaguchi, Saitama
Thank the Lord there were 17 attendees for the first ukulele class in July. Please continue to pray that the class will be an opportunity for attendees to build community and learn about the Gospel. Please pray for one missionary as he shares a message for the Wednesday prayer service on August 19 and preaches on Sunday, the August 23. Please pray for the JY camp at the beginning of August, that it will be a refreshing time for students and a time for them to grow closer to God.

KGK camp season has started in August and will last through October (5 student camps + 2 staff retreat camps). Pray for stamina & emotional rest.
New Hope Yokohama
Thank you for praying for the first “Summer Bible Dive,” where participants will journey through Paul’s letter to the Colossians together in six sessions. Pray that God will work deeply in the missionaries and through them. Thank you also for praying for youth camp August 11–13, kids camp August 13–15, and the ongoing Life Change discipleship course.
Tokyo Center Church (TCC)
English day camp August 17-21: Pray for the health of the Canadian team coming to help. Give thanks for the 16 children registered and pray that they will know Jesus’ love and for the kids and parents joining the church on Sunday. Pray for the missionaries to have God’s guidance and walk closely with Him
Hirosaki Nozomi
Praise God for two well attended overnight camps at the church with good opportunities to share Jesus. A third camp is planned for August 7-8. Pray for good and Godly rest over the summer and a good restart to outreach events and classes during the week of the August 23.
Midori-no-Makiba Odate Chapel, Odate, Akita
Praise God for the various contacts that the missionaries have made and please pray these relationships would develop with more opportunities to share the gospel. On August 4-5 the church has their Bible kid’s English camp with 9 children signed up, so please pray for the practical preparations and spiritual protection for this time. Afterwards the missionaries are having a family holiday, please pray for refreshment for all of them.
Sakata Lutheran Brethren Church, Yamagata
Pray for our Kids Gospel outreach from August 5-9: for (1) a good number of children and protection on the time with the team, (2) the concert for parents on the August 9; and (3) hearts that are open to the gospel.
Yamagata Nanbu Church
Please continue to pray for the Pastor’s health as he returns to his hometown in Kyushu for recovery for at least a month. Pray for wisdom for the missionaries in navigating their ministry load and balancing their family life. Pray for the children’s summer camp in early August and for all the children to grow in their faith and understanding of the Lord.
