Wing and Yuko, Kasumi (13) and Sumire (10) Lo returned to Cambodia for their 2nd term at the end of July 2014, not knowing where or what the Lord was leading them to. During the search for their new home, they were led to New Phnom Penh, where many new housing estates have been built and others currently in progress. With the help of a very friendly local Cambodian woman, they found a house and quickly moved in. Although they were not sure exactly what their ministry would look like, they desired to reach out to the many people in their new neighborhood. Around them were over 1000 houses, most having spirit altars and idol shelves on prominent display.
While Wing and Yuko spent the first 6 months building relationships, they started thinking about connecting with people with and beyond their immediate neighbors. The Lord gave them the idea of a mobile library – soon they started pushing a second hand metal cart filled with books on many topics (Khmer history, biographies, health, education, work, children’s books, fiction, Christian literature) through the streets. Since March 2015, almost 150 individuals have borrowed books! Wing and Yuko are focusing on deepening these relationships, and praying for opportunities to share more about Jesus. At times their ministry is discouraging, but the Lord does not fail to bring amazing encounters.
Wing also visits a neighboring village. There he meets a few men and regularly shares Bible stories with them. May the seed of the Gospel grow and bring fruit in His time. Many people have no Biblical knowledge, and the desire for this ministry is to make Christ known to them. Please pray that the Lord will grant us wisdom, as we share Christ through our lives, mobile library and outreach. Please also pray for new team-mates that can help share the burden and joy.
