The Uyghurs of Central Asia

The Uyghurs of Central Asia

Today the Uyghurs are one of the largest minority nationalities in the People’s Republic of China. More than eight million Uyghurs live in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in northwest China. Uyghurs are classified as Turkic Muslims. “Uyghur” means “united” or “allied,” because the nation is a union of historic clans and tribes, yet they are not united politically. It is a region of tension. Your prayers can lead Uyghurs to know Jesus Christ, the King of glory.
