Many kids in the poorer areas of the Philippines face a vicious cycle of growing up whilst witnessing their non-believing fathers struggle with alcohol addictions.Many begin drinking themselves when they become youth, following the examples of their fathers. Often this leads to their girlfriends getting pregnant and the cycle of dysfunctional relationships and poverty continues.

Although poor, many children and youth have access to smartphones and the unfiltered internet, where they are discipled in the ways of the world, through exposure to pornography and endless hours of doomscrolling and online games. The messages they receive and absorb are often unhealthy, and sadly we see this bears fruit in their worldviews and behavior.

At Glory to God Magpakailanman Church (Batasan Hills, Manila), we are developing relationships with many fathers along with hundreds of youth and children through the basketball programs and family night. Please pray for the power of the Holy Spirit and God’s word to have deep influence and transformative, healing power in these homes, as we proclaim biblical manhood and positive role models to these men and their children.
