When God closes a door, He opens a window

Lee-anne Hill is relocating to Singapore to take on the role of Team Leader for OMF’s International Personnel System Centre of Expertise (what a job title!). We are hoping that you can take a moment to hear a little of her story of how she has responded to God’s call…

Lee-anne’s call into ministry has been about windows and doors “When God closes a door, He opens a window”.

Lee-anne’s journey towards discovering her God-calling started in 2003 when she was working in a corporate role, but despite enjoying her work, she felt a lack of purpose. Lee-anne started applying for Youth Pastor Roles, but with every opportunity it seemed that God kept closing doors. This led into her looking into how she could become a missionary, and although she found the application process lengthy, there appeared to be no obstacles. This process eventually directed Lee-anne to Central Thailand where she became involved in Church planting, which then steered her to becoming field administrator for OMF’s Thailand office. In this role Lee-anne learnt so much, up-skilling herself in the area of people management, communications and systems. The Lord was faithful and helped her to grow and develop during this time in Thailand.

In 2014, Lee-anne was approached by our International OMF Centre to take up an essential role of managing our OMF database. When the job description was sent her way, she discovered she could put a “tick” next to each item, as over the years God had been faithful to her by closing the right doors, and opening the right windows. This mean that she had the right skills and experience, plus had gone through the right challenges, in order to prepare her for this role.

Lee-anne shares that she hopes that in our own lives as God closes doors, we are able to find the window, climb through it, and discover what the Lord has waiting for us.
