It’s because East and Southeast Asia are home to over 287 million Muslim people. That is more than in the whole of the Middle East.
When does Ramadan start?
The month of Ramadan moves back every year as it follows the Islamic Calendar which is known as the Hijri calendar which consists of 12 lunar months in a year of 354 or 355 days. In 2026 AD Ramadan is expected to begin on Wednesday February 18, and will end on March 19, 2026. The exact dates may vary depending on sighting the crescent of a new moon.
How to Pray for Muslims during Ramadan
For the millions of Muslim people in East and Southeast Asia, the fasting month of Ramadan marks the time Muslims believe the Qur’an was first revealed to Muhammad. It’s a great time to pray for God to bless Muslim peoples and to pray that they would learn more about Jesus.
