Q: Minnie, which group of people do you hope to reach out to? Children, students, young women . . . ?
A: Any group is fine. I’ll make friends with anyone.
Since Minnie arrived in Hanamaki two years ago, she has befriended many in the community. These include her neighbours, a curry rice shop owner, a nurse, a Chinese shop owner and his customers, people from the community drama group, high school students, young mums, and many more.
What drives Minnie to invest time and energy in the lives of all these people? The answer is simple. She is convinced that they all need Jesus. She is convinced that they all need to hear the gospel.
“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?” – Romans 10:14 NIV
Please pray that these relationships would deepen. Ask God to arouse in the hearts of these contacts a curiosity to the gospel and a dissatisfaction to life. May God bless Minnie with wisdom, strength and love as she interacts with each of them.
