I want to meet Jesus… language confusion

When “going to meet Jesus” means “going to church”

A couple of weeks ago we visited a man who had an important question: If he were to believe Jesus and go to heaven, would he have two legs again instead of  missing half a leg? I confirmed that, when he believed Jesus died and rose for his sins, he would receive a fully restored body with no pain when he got to heaven.

The next week when we visited again he said ‘I want to go to see Jesus, can you make sure that I’ll be picked up.’ I was a little confused and as I replied that I couldn’t do that, his face said it all: disappointment. ‘But you said I am welcome every Sunday at 10AM’…
Only for me to understand that going to Jesus meant the same as going to church…
