History of Hanamaki Grace Christ Church

Why is there a church plant in Hanamaki, in central Tohoku? Because there is hardly any Christian influence in this city of 100,000 people. There are no Christian schools, nurseries, hospitals, or other commonly seen examples of Christian influence. The few churches in the city have less members combined than you have fingers and toes.

If someone in Hanamaki was thinking about Jesus, where would they go?

“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?” (Romans 10:14 ESV)

Pray for this two year old church plant to shine like a city on a hill. Pray for perseverance from the missionaries in telling people the Gospel.

Written by Andrew.

Will you pray for Japan?

  • Pray for towns and villages in Japan that have little Christian influence, that God would send people there to start churches.
  • Pray that many would come to Christ in Hanamaki.
