Prayer Partnership

For over 150 years, OMF has seen God work through the prayers of his people.

Prayer partners like you play an essential role in our work of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ in all its fullness with East Asia's peoples. Committed prayer supporters encourage Christians who are making disciples across the world and across cultures as they journey together in ministry.

Because OMF sees prayer as a vital part of faithful, fruitful ministry, all our workers must have at least 30 or 50* prayer partners signed up to support them before they are can start serving with us.

How it works...

What you will receive from OMF and the worker you support:

Prayer updates
You will receive ten email prayer updates a year from your OMF worker. These help fuel your prayers as you get an insight into their life and ministry among East Asians, pray along with them, hear of answered prayers and persevere in intercession. Many workers also share more prayer requests through videos, social media, and messaging tools such as WhatsApp.

Billions magazine
You will receive OMF’s Billions magazine three times a year, free of charge. Billions is full of inspiring stories of what God is doing in East Asia, resources you can use to encourage others to join in sharing Jesus’ love around the world, and details of local events to meet OMF workers and other prayer supporters.

Financial needs
As part of their support team, your OMF worker
will keep you informed to help you pray for their financial needs.

How do you play your part?

Individuals
Pray regularly for your OMF worker, prompted and guided by their updates. Share their burdens and joys, come alongside them in their ministry and keep in regular contact.
When they visit the UK to see family, churches and supporters, practically and prayerfully support them as they adjust to life here again.

Churches
Be an advocate for your OMF worker, keeping the church fellowship informed, involved and praying.  Keep your OMF worker informed and involved through prayer in the life of your church. Help with practical arrangements and pastorally as they adjust to life in the UK when visiting.

Additional prayer resources

Alongside specific prayer updates from your worker, we also encourage you to pray for the countries and peoples of East Asia. We’ve developed a range of free prayer resources for the countries of East Asia and a suggested weekly rhythm of prayer for missionaries to help you get started. You don’t need to pray alone either. We also have a network of local prayer groups around the UK, as well as online prayer groups for many of the countries of East Asia, to help share updates and enjoy the encouragement of calling on
the Lord together.
