Easter Sunday: he is alive

This Easter, OMF worker Hang Naulak is sharing reflections on Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Hang is from India and now serves in Thailand.

‘He is not here; he has risen, just as he said.’ (Matthew 28:6)

As a kid growing up in India, I always looked forward to this special day for Christians. We woke up around three in the early morning to attend the Church assembled in the street and joined together in the Easter proclamation that “Christ has risen…Christ is alive…”
Christians are alive with Christ because he overcame death on the first Easter Sunday. By Jesus’ glorious resurrection we are delivered from the power of death. Let us be renewed to live in the resurrected life of our Savior. Jesus is our hope and we have the privilege of proclaiming this to the whole creation.
‘I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.’ (John 11:25).

Dear friends, let’s pray for those who don’t yet follow Jesus, that they would have opportunities to hear and respond to this good news. Pray that this Easter day churches would take a new step to go and boldly share that Jesus is alive. In our churches we talk about the second coming of Jesus Christ, but there are billions of people who are still to hear about his first coming.

‘How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”’ (Romans 10:14-15)
