Making the Jump from Short to Long-Term
During this session, participants will be challenged by 3 different people, from 3 different continents, who are just about to make the big jump from short-term to long-term service.
How did they know they should return to the field? What obstacles have they experienced? Where have they seen God answer prayers? What advice do they have for others who are interested in going long-term but feel nervous about the commitment. Participants will also have the opportunity to share with others where they are in in their own missional journey.

Calling all creatives- this one’s for you! Has God stirred your heart to use art to reach people across cultures?
Every culture tells its story through the language of art—expressing its values, spiritual dynamics, and ultimately, its worldview. Our artwork can be a beautiful means of beginning conversations with friends who may not know Jesus. Join Ling, Serve Asia Coordinator from Singapore, as we learn how we can co-create with God the Father, reveal His glory and beauty, express His heart, and further His Kingdom.

Along with his high level of expertise, it is clear from any conversation with him that he has a deep love for those he is serving among in Northern Thailand. And just because he’s a high level researcher, doesn’t mean he’s out of touch. He is viewed as one of O’s most influential and inspiring field mobilizers who relates extremely well to our diverse group of Serve Asia Workers.

The Weird Missionary… Will that be me?
There are some negative stereotypes about missionaries. Sometimes when they return to their passport country they can seem out of touch or they may be difficult to talk to. Is this because mission organizations tend to recruit people who are already on the fringe or maybe living overseas so long can have an peculiar effect on people. Come join a fun discussion of discovery as we explore how missionaries are called to be different and set apart but also relative and relatable all at the same time.
The presenter, Irene Nicholson, lead mobilize for Taiwan, will bring her sense of humor, her realness, and her decades of experience to this topic of identity that is often thought about but rarely discussed.
