Asia’s only Christian nation — yet millions practice religion without truly knowing Christ.

We thank God for the growing church in the Philippines. However, much work remains to be done. Whole communities still have little to no access to the gospel, and many who identify as Christians have not been deeply discipled. Across the islands, there is still a critical need for workers to strengthen the church, train leaders, and bring the good news to those who have not yet heard.

But thousands of communities are not thriving spiritually; 28 people groups have no local church.

In partnership with others, OMF has worked in the Philippines since 1952. By God’s grace, our efforts have seen growth with churches established in many places. 14% of the population is evangelical. Yet, the need for missionaries to work alongside local ministries continues to be great.

Vision

God glorified through Biblical communities of faith in the Philippines bearing witness to the gospel so that, by God’s grace, society will be transformed and the world impacted.

Mission

We partner with individuals and groups for the planting and strengthening of Biblical communities of faith that are authentically Filipino.

It is still harvest time among the Philippines’ 117 million people. Although the Bible-believing church has grown, many of its members are first-generation believers needing intentional discipleship. False teaching and quasi-Christian groups are proliferating.

One of our initiatives is to equip churches and communities to offer formal and informal theological and missiological training working alongside local partners.

Half of the 42,000 communities, mostly in provincial and rural areas, lack a Bible-believing church. We need people who are willing to serve within the socio-religious networks of these unreached areas, who are prepared to live away from the convenience of cities, amidst possible insurgent activities, natural disasters, and periods of isolation.

We build relationships with the less reached in urban and rural communities through practical and creative ministries like livelihood projects, sports, art, and campus ministries, share the gospel, and disciple those who believe.

We invest in the well-being and development of our workers. Members engaged in support ministries aim to provide care, leadership and administrative support for the team, sharing the same vision and values. The support team includes people who provide member care and medical care, who facilitate training and development for our missionaries, who provide education care for their children, and who provide administrative support.
