Connect Greenline church

We’ve worked in the Yokohama area since 2013. The God of Jehovah Jireh opened an amazing door to meet local people through the Korean class in the local community centre. We met around 14 people every week. After about two years we started Bible study with two ladies. And one person joined the worship service for a while. A small group now meets on a Sunday near Tsuzuki Fureaino-oka station.

After our home assignment in 2017, we shared the gospel at the park, station square, and shopping mall every day for one year. We also visited onsens (hot spring baths) to share the gospel. Eun Ock, my wife, shared the gospel with over 100 people and about 30 people prayed to accept Jesus as their personal Saviour on the spot. She is excited about sharing the gospel in season and out of season.

We value making disciple one-by-one, believing Isaiah 60:22: “The smallest family among you will become a tribe. The smallest tribe will become a mighty nation. I am the Lord. When it is the right time, I will act quickly” (NIRV).

During our first term we saw God used one person to bring great joy on the university campus (like Philip in Acts 8:8). We would like invest ourselves to build up one person who follow Jesus wholeheartedly. And we are excited to share the Word of God and desire to see the church grow more and more in the future.

Please pray that the Lord build his disciples in the Greenline church. And we could prepare the next generation who will change Japan in future. We would like to see more mature Christians teach younger Christians in the church. This is a value in Japanese society we would like to see in the church.

We welcome short term workers 2–3 times every year. It is fun time to enjoy the fellowship with them and local people. We have been so encouraged by their input in bringing people to Christ and church.

Will you pray for Japan?

  • Pray that the Lord would build his church in Yokohama.
  • Pray for the missionaries working in this city, that they will be able to reach the next generation for Christ.
  • That more mature Japanese Christians would take up the mantel of teaching younger Christians in the church.
