Prayer for the Hani

Cathy is a Hani girl born with a disability. Her family wanted her to stay home to do housework after she graduated from the village’s junior high school. Cathy cried for many days until her family agreed to let her go to school, if she could find one that was free. By God’s Grace, she was accepted by a vocational training school in the city. Someone invited her to attend the Easter Service there and she decided to believe in Christ. A believer helped her to download a Bible app and showed her how to read daily devotional material on her mobile phone. There is no known church near her school or dormitory. May the Holy Spirit guide her in her future steps of following Jesus.

“When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, “Woman, you are set free from your infirmity.” (Luke 13:12)

Father, we thank You for Cathy and that You have called her to yourself. May many Hani people have the chance to hear the Good News and receive Jesus as their Lord and savior. Please, use mobile apps and online resources to help the Hani believers to grow in Christ.

This month we will journey together through the Book of Jonah to pray for the Hani people. Most of the Hani people live in China (about 740,000), while a smaller number lives in Laos and Vietnam. There are a few Hani believers. Learn more about the Hani here.

Please pray with us for the Hani people during the month of July.
