Church in Mongolia

The OMF International vision is “to see an indigenous biblical church movement among each people group of East Asia”. We believe that what God wants to see as the fruit of our lives and service is disciples who are making additional disciples, churches that are planting additional churches, leaders that are raising up additional leaders, trainers that are equipping additional trainers, and new churches that are engaging in cross-cultural outreach.

The Apostle Paul took part in movements. One was among the Jews and Greeks of ancient Asia. Acts 19:8-10 gives a short account about it. The end of verse 10 reports that “all the Jews and Greeks who lived in the province of Asia heard the word of the Lord.” A Gospel movement took place in ancient Asia.

Paul also took part in a movement among the Jews and Greeks of Ancient Thessalonica. In 2 Thessalonians 3:1, Paul urged the believers; “Finally, brothers, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honoured, just as it was with you.” As in Asia, the Gospel movement in Thessalonica was rapid. Paul hoped that such movements would take place elsewhere, too. He was committed to the urgent evangelization of the Jews and Greeks of his day.

Paul praised the same church in 2 Thessalonians 1:3: “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.” Their growing faith and love prove that, not only a Gospel movement, but a disciple-making movement took place in Thessalonica.

Over the years, CIM and then OMF has taken part in several indigenous biblical church movements. Jesus is building His Church. We are continually learning to make disciples in ways that are biblical, fruitful, and reproducible. As a result, Lord willing, we will take part in more indigenous biblical church movements among East Asia’s peoples. That is, more and more disciples will make additional disciples, more and more churches will plant additional churches, more and more leaders will raise additional leaders, more and more trainers will equip additional trainers, and more and more new churches will engage in cross-cultural outreach.
