Children in Myanmar in boat

About two years ago we were invited to accompany an Ethnic Karen Christian to a children’s work in a rice-farming village about 90km from Yangon. The distance isn’t that far, but it takes two-and-a-half hours each way by bus and motorcycle taxi. Over the past two years we’ve gradually built a trust relationship with people in this farming village, previously a “no-go area” for foreigners. Please pray for this ministry, as so far all 25 children are still Buddhist, even though they sing along and enjoy the bible stories, games and program each week.

Before leaving we have a short bible study and time of sharing with the 78 years old house owner, his wife and other family members. They were both converted from Buddhism in recent years, having been introduced to Jesus by their three grown children who became Christians while living as migrant workers along the Thai-Myanmar border.

Will you pray for Myanmar?

  • Pray as the children take bible stories & literature back to their homes!
  • Pray for the parents to also become interested in these stories.
