Bigger than the Tsunami

Day 1: Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture / Yonezawa, Yamagata Prefecture

“God’s love is bigger than the tsunami.”

Isaiah 59:19-20 “From the west, men will fear the name of the LORD, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the LORD drives along. The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins, declares the LORD” (NIV).

As we travel west ward to Fukushima and Yamagata prefectures we had an opportunity to listen to the testimonies of the two local churches in Aizuwakamatsu and Yonezawa and pray together with them. When the huge tsunami hit Japan on 11th March 2011, many houses and lives were swept away, and it left those who survived in despair. However, the pastor whom we met today shared how the Lord encouraged him through Isaiah 59:19. Even though the tsunami was huge, but God helped the pastor to see that God’s love is greater than the tsunami. And the Lord is in control of the whole situation. As this encouraged him to see the greatness of God’s love, and the pastor has been able to encourage people around him to see the greatness of God’s love. He was able to share these words of God with both Christians and non-Christian.

Please pray that many people will truly repent of their sins and return to the LORD and accept Him as their Redeemer.

Please pray for the spiritual revival in Fukushima and Yamagata.
