Wendy has had a long relationship with Japan. She first visited the country as a high school student, then took her first short-term trip while at university, curious to understand Japanese culture. For a time, she didn’t want to live in Japan – then found herself visiting an international school for two weeks, that turned into six years of ministry and outreach! It was during this time that she developed a heart for Japanese people to know Jesus.
Upon returning to Australia, Wendy completed Bible college and gained skills and experience in training, leadership and management in vocational education. She also finished a Masters of Leadership, including subjects in ministry, leadership and business, then went on to obtain work experience in this field. As she grew personally, professionally and spiritually, so did her deep love for Japan.
It is this love for Japan’s people—one of the most unreached countries in the world, with less than 2% Christians—that spurs Wendy to seek to encourage and equip Japanese Christians to reach their nation. She hopes to work with Japanese churches reaching out to Japanese people for Jesus and helping them grow in their faith. She also seeks to be a resource to support fellow missionaries.
Pray for Wendy:
- Pray for Japanese people who hear the gospel—that their minds may be open to Jesus, and that they may turn to Him wholeheartedly as Lord and Saviour. Pray for God to remove any barriers that would prevent them from doing so.
- Pray for Wendy’s ministry to be a good fit with the experiences and skills the Lord has given her, and that her placement may be the best one to give Him glory. Pray for His provision of all that is needed for her to serve in this way.
