Mission has been on our hearts since the start of our marriage, though it was not clear where the Lord would have us serve Him. In 2020, the Lord planted in us the desire to consider missionary work in Thailand. Since then, He has placed an increasing burden upon us to worship Him by serving at the J.O. Fraser Centre (JOFC). The Lord has been preparing our family for this ministry throughout *Paul’s theological studies and apprenticeship with his local church. Following our trip to JOFC, we received counsel from our church, elders, and mentors, all of which confirmed our sense of calling.
About JOFC
JOFC is a discipleship and training centre for local Christians from various Asian people groups between the ages of 18-30. Our core ministry will involve mentoring, teaching the Bible and English as a second language, and training students in what it means to follow Jesus in all aspects of life. Living in community will give us the unique opportunity to engage in life-on-life discipleship. Long-term, we hope to develop the graduate program, which has a focus on maturing and training pastoral leaders to serve in their local churches.
Pray for Paul and Mary*
- Pray that we would maintain a close walk with the Lord, and that we would find our identity and joy in Christ.
- Pray we would trust God will provide for us, and for the patience and humility we need to learn a new language and culture.
- Pray for the strength to love and serve one another as a family.
- Pray that the current students would grow in their knowledge and love of Christ. Pray that God would raise up further cohorts to study at JOFC.
- Pray that the gospel would continue to advance in Northern Thailand.
