After serving in East Asia first in further language study, then as a training manager and principal in a school for teens with disabilities from 2005-2009, Kym took on the role of Candidate Coordinator for OMF Australia. She learned first-hand that God’s mission requires senders, and has since been involved in screening, training and preparing over 100 new missionaries for cross-cultural service.
In this next season of ministry, Kym is combining her passion for teaching, management, and mission in a new role as head of OMF Australia’s personnel department. As Personnel Director, she will be managing OMF Australia’s resources, processes and people to ensure that cross-cultural workers and their families – from missionaries and children overseas to staff and volunteers—are supported, developed and cared for throughout their service with OMF.
Pray for Kym and OMF Australia
- Leadership – Wisdom and discernment as Kym leads and coordinates the Personnel Department, serves on the Australian leadership team, and contributes to an international committee.
- Transitions – God’s guidance for the OMF Australia team through a time of transition as they respond to post-pandemic ministry opportunities, changing political situations and the various ways of serving in mission.
- Family – A healthy balance between ministry, family, church, and rest. For Kym’s children, Thomas and Hannah, to grow up loving God. For a deepening relationship with her husband, Victor, and for wisdom and patience as parents.
- Partnerships – A close walk with the Lord and growth in Kym’s love and knowledge of Him, so that her ministry will be an out flowing of His work. Pray for faithful prayer and financial partners who will journey long-term with her in mission.
