In the year that we married, our pastors had a vision of us serving in a clinic somewhere in Asia. Little did we imagine that this would be in a relatively wealthy country, nor that Carl’s patients would be missionaries.
Later, during a family trip, we visited a church in Japan. We were moved by their heart to reach their community with the gospel, and struck by their desperate need for manpower and resources—particularly in light of Japan’s high rate of broken families and youth mental illness.
We asked God if he had a role for us in Japan. When we returned a few months later, an OMF missionary told us that they had been looking for a medical advisor! This role perfectly matches Carl’s experience as a general practitioner—and both our hearts for Japan.
We’re preparing to serve in part-time medical-related work, as well as in ministry alongside local Japanese churches in church-planting, discipleship and evangelism. We believe God is going to bring about a revival in Japan. We’re keen to be part of it—and to invite you to join us.
Pray for Japan and the Yans
- Pray that the Holy Spirit will bring new life to the people of Japan and revival to the Japanese church.
- Pray for missionaries throughout Japan, that each of us will be effective in bringing Jesus and His restoration.
- Pray for God’s blessing and guidance on our family and relationships, as we prepare and transition to ministry in Japan.
