Journey to mission
During a 2012 short-term mission trip to Taiwan, Andrew and Sarah saw first-hand the spiritual needs of Taiwan’s working class (15 million people) of whom less than 1% are Christians. Sensing God’s call towards long-term cross-cultural missions, they continued to pray for Taiwan, while being equipped for missionary service through theological study and serving at church.
In 2023, Andrew and Sarah were commissioned as OMF missionaries to Taiwan and spent two years learning language and culture full-time in Taichung.
Church planting in rural Taiwan
In 2025, the Lord led Andrew and Sarah to join a church planting ministry team in Xingang, a rural township in Chiayi County of 30,000 people where there are few Christians. Xingang is famous for its Mazu temple, the destination of an annual 9-day pilgrimage involving hundreds of thousands of people. Many lives or livelihoods are influenced by this temple’s activities.
Andrew and Sarah serve with a team that seeks the evangelisation of Xingang and the establishment of a local church that is centred on God’s Word.
Pray for Andrew, Sarah, E and H
- Pray for a close walk with the Lord, a strong marriage and a faith-nurturing family life.
- Pray for opportunities, boldness and discernment in building relationships and sharing the gospel with the people of Xingang.
- Pray for gospel breakthrough amongst Taiwan’s working class, especially in regions such as Xingang, where Christians are few.
- Pray for the establishment of a local church committed to faithful Bible teaching and evangelism, and for wisdom in discipling others to follow Jesus.
